United States tariffs when shipping fishing gear from Japan. August 12, 2025

There are no tariffs on personal purchases of fishing gear under $800 USD until August 29, 2025.

Dear United States Customers,

Thank you very much for being our valued customer.

We understand that many of you may be concerned about tariffs when purchasing from Japan.
The United States began imposing a 15% tariff on products imported from Japan on August 7. However, this 15% tariff does not apply to personal purchases for purchases under $800 USD.
Please rest assured that this condition is based on the De Minimis rule and will remain after August 7, 2025.
If your purchase amount of fishing gear is less than $800 USD, there will be no tariffs on personal purchases, as there always have been, so shop with confidence.

However, according to current information, the United States government has announced that the De Minimis rule will be abolished on August 29th. Therefore, any cargo passing through US customs after August 29th may be subject to a 15% tariff even if it is less than $800 USD.

This content is based on information available as of August 12 Japan time, and if any new information becomes available we will notify you through a news article.
If you have any questions regarding US tariffs, please feel free to contact us.
