Metal shims were inserted into the mold of the Megabass X-80 Trick Darter to increase its volume. This gives it 20% more buoyancy than the X-80, while the lip shape has been tuned to create a lip that stirs the water surface as a topwater plug.
The internal core has also been redesigned, and the mold has been replaced, resulting in a completely different internal structure from the X-80 Trick Darter.
The fat body transforms into a bait that produces an exquisite boiling action when reeled with the rod raised.
