When a school of large baits moves to deep range, there are many situations where it is difficult to use the lures on the top or just below the water surface. I have been to areas where various konoshio patterns exist, and I have realized this keenly.
When konoshio are flocking to the surface of the water, a Wakey Boo or Captain Tokyo that can pass through the top or just below the water surface is a good match, but during the day, when the water temperature suddenly drops, or when the water quality is deteriorating, konoshio sinks to the bottom range. When things went wrong, I would end up with a single bite, and in severe cases, there were times when I wouldn't be able to bite at all.
At such times, I thought, ``What if there was a minnow that could hit the bait that had accumulated in the deep range?'' The Hi-Standard 180 was able to do that.
In the actual fishing test, I was able to catch an 84cm monster seabass, and only those who cast the Hi-Standard 180 were able to catch bites repeatedly, so the difference in fishing results was overwhelming.
