Floating jerkbaits are used when you want to float them around structure or weeds to dodge them, or when you want to attract bass with a jerk during periods of low activity such as low water temperature or post-spawn, and then use a brief stay and surface action to get them to bite.
The new model uses a tungsten ball for the moving weight, improving casting distance and accuracy. The fixed weight uses a low-center-of-gravity plate, and the rear weight is the same as the suspending model, while the front weight is over 50% lighter.
The floating speed is set so that bass don't give up chasing the plug because it's too fast, but still allows the bait to hit the water surface, allowing the angler to wait for it to surface. It imitates small fish that prey on bugs and other floating fish on the surface.
