This is an upsized version of the "Still Area," a minnow specifically designed for the "Magic Jerk" technique and favored by many experts.
The 8mm increase in size expands the effective approach range and prioritizes "attraction efficiency" through high buoyancy and agility.
It retains the agile lure action and the signature wobbling ascent of the Still Area T2. Whether performing rapid, short jerks or deliberate, single jerks, it maintains the interest of trout across a wide area, thereby increasing opportunities for a bite.
In the "Magic Jerk" technique, the lure is quickly dived below the trout's line of sight after casting to temporarily mask its presence.
Next, while maintaining line tension to control its posture, the lure is allowed to float straight up. When the "Still" suddenly darts back into their field of vision, the fish are compelled to strike.
In muddy ponds where sight fishing isn't possible, PE line is used to detect bites by watching for line movement as you search for the trout's depth range.
Ester line is also effective for this method, as it places less pressure on the fish, blends well with the water, and has low stretch.
Leveraging the dynamic action created by its rapid diving and high buoyancy, it performs well in a variety of scenarios—from the competitive "second pattern" phase following a fresh stocking of fish to tough conditions where you must carefully coax out individual bites.

Using a split ring one size larger than the standard allows for a setting that suppresses "kickback" (unwanted erratic movement), even though buoyancy and the wobbling action are slightly reduced. The addition of the Still Area 48HF enables a "golden rotation" strategy: drawing fish in with the 48mm model and then getting them to bite with the 40mm version.
This minnow features a highly delicate balance, making "true-tuning" (adjusting the eyelet) essential.
