The "Shot Over 5" is a deep-diving crankbait with exceptional depth-reaching capabilities—capable of exceeding 5 meters, which is effectively the limit for hard-bodied lures. Remarkably, it can reach these depths through standard casting, without the need for techniques like dragging or "kneeling and reeling."
Despite sharing the same 75mm body size as the "Over 4" (Triple Full Size) model, the Shot Over 5 can reach 5.4 meters on 14lb test line, and up to 6.0 meters on 10lb test line. Furthermore, its compact body design reduces retrieve resistance, offering a light, effortless feel that allows anglers to fish it continuously across vast areas.
Like the "Over 4," it features "casting fins" that ensure a stable posture for long-distance casts, as well as a "non-stack" bill design that minimizes the risk of the lure digging into weeds or soft bottom substrates. Its action—a tight wobble-roll—is designed to perform effectively in any water condition.
The lure utilizes a construction method where the body and the lip are molded separately and then joined. Depending on the color, the body material alternates between "bone white" ABS and clear ABS; this variation not only influences the lure's action and sound but also provides anglers with a broader range of appeal intensities.
In deep-water environments—where efficient fishing is often a challenge—deep cranking offers a distinct advantage by enabling a fast-paced, aggressive approach. The "Shot Over 5" further amplifies this strategic edge.
