The front line is designed to be slightly heavier than normal lines so that it is easier to handle at short to medium distances, which is the actual fishing area in Japan's mountain streams. Yet, it also allows delicate presentations to be made smoothly. This is a standard item for Japanese mountain stream lines that can be used stress-free from flat water in the middle reaches of Japan to mountain streams and headwaters.
